In 2000 I had the incredible luck to be commissioned to create a flight simulator sculpture. I pulled out the rocket design and created this object.
Rocket MK-II allowed me to take some important decisions especially when it came to the Monitor placement. I agonised for months and finally decided to incorporate the monitor in the instrument panel, the only "unreal" thing but it allowed me to retain the basic shape of the Rocket as clean as possible
The real fun is when you sit in it and fly it, it is everything you want a video game to be and then some. Here I am landing a Corsair on Midway island... The sound and vibrations are excellent.
One can see that the instruments are also the buttons to control the game.
This Rocket is in Seattle.
